HISTORY

Bodega Rento, Grupo Matarromera, Ribera del Duero

In the sixteenth century, there is a development in Castilla y León, and especially in the province of Valladolid, due to different causes, that moves the Royal Court, and all the stocks of Gold and the products brought from America to the town of Valladolid.

This period coincides with the development of arts and culture and the Renaissance culture.

In Olivares de Duero, the Marquis of Olivares built a noble house, with all its complementary stables, warehouses and other facilities. This house and winery has reached today through time and history accompanying the circumstances that Spain has lived since that moment.

This building became a restaurant, and after that, became a Jesuits convent, until the King Carlos III fired them in the 19th century. At this moment, the Moro family acquired this building. Carlos Moro decided, along with his family, restore the house and the wine cellar and create a top quality wine according to history and time, but adapted to the current tastes with most advanced technology.
